Weekly Newsletter October 10, 8th of Rabi Al-Akhar1446

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu Masjid,

This week marked a year since the genocide began in Gaza, Palestine. The events on October 7th were indeed a terrible tragedy; however the aftermath of these events have been atrocious with even more destruction, more cruelty and a much bigger loss of life. Each day since then has been heavy on the hearts of everyone in the ummah. However, as Muslims, we continue to be people of hope: hope in the Mercy of Allah, hope in the knowledge that with hardship there is ease(Quran, 94:6).  We find comfort in the ayah from surah Al-e-Imran, where Allah refers to the battle of Uhud with:

Remember when two groups among you believers were about to lose courage, then Allah reassured them. So in Allah let the believers put their trust (Quran, 3:122)

So we carry on with this trust in Allah. We continue to stand against injustice and fight the narrative that supports oppression and discrimination.

May Allah make us of those whose hearts are filled with Tawakkal in Allah. May Allah bring peace to Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Kashmir, Rohingya and all around the world.  May Allah protect us all from natural disasters such as Hurricane Milton. Ameen.
