Your Qurbani was more than food, it was love in action.
It was Eid morning..
The Masjid was alive with Takbeerat, hugs, everyone dressed in their best clothes, scent of bakhoor and fragrances in the air, Maasha Allah. But, Aaliyah, a new Muslim stood in the corner, alone, with no calls, no texts. Her family said she was no longer welcome. Alhamdulillah, one of our volunteers noticed her. Next, a warm meal was placed in her hands, and without a word, she was reminded: you are not alone.
Because of you, Aaliyah wasnt forgotten. She had a full Eid meal and was blessed with an opportunity to celebrate!. She smiled through tears while helping bag fresh Qurbani meat, your meat, to share with others just like her. Together, we raised $5,941, which provided 1 cow, 6 lambs, and 2 goats, Allahu Akbar.
Animals were sacrificed with takbr, packed into bags, and even hand-delivered to over 40 Muslims in 6 transitional houses, and the Community many celebrated Eid for the very first time.
One brother said: This is my first Eid. I didnt know it would feel like this. I feel like I belong.
New Muslims came with us to the slaughter field. They recited takbr, helped prepare the meat, and one quietly said, Now I understand Prophet Ibrahim, not just in my mind, but in my bones. You didnt just give meat. You gave identity. You gave joy. You gave Eid.
From all of us at Masjid Al Farooq,
Thank you. For every dollar. Every du. Every ounce of care.Thank you for seeing the invisible. For lifting up those quietly struggling. For honoring the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi as-salm).
Jazkum Allhu Khayran wa BarakAllahu Feekum.
