Dear WVMA Members,

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

We pray to Allah (SWT) to keep us all and our families & friends safe and in good health InShaaAllah. Our duas and thoughts remain with the people of Gaza, who are enduring unimaginable hardships. May Allah (SWT) ease heir sufferings and bring tranquility to their hearts. Ameen!

• The time has come for electing members to the WVMA BoT and BoD open positions for Hijri 1446 (2024 2025)

• The voting will be held on-line on Thursday, July 18 th 7:00AM through Friday, July 19th 7:00 PM

Open positions are as follows:

2 Board of Trustees for 2 yrs.

3 Board of Directors for 2 yrs.

Key Election Dates:

• To be eligible to Nominate or be a Nominee*, you must be a WVMA member on or before Sunday, April 28, 2024.

• To be eligible to Vote, you must be a WVMA member on or before Sunday, May 19, 2024.

• Nomination Deadline: Thursday, June 27, 2024, midnight. Please email all fully completed nomination forms to [email protected]. There will be no changes allowed post midnight. You can send us the forms ahead of time for verification.

• Nominated Candidates Announcement: Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024

• Nominated Candidates Bio and statements are due to Election Committee Sunday, July 7th, 2024, midnight.

• The Candidate forum (Zoom Meeting) will be scheduled for Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Zoom meeting will be open to WVMA Members only. Rules of engagement will be sent prior to the meeting.

• Election results to be announced week of July 23rd, 2024 or sooner InshaAllah.

Please note that the Nomination and the Nominee Forms will be available for download from the WVMA website [www.wvmuslim.org] starting May 1, 2024

Nominee Qualifications per WVMA constitution: Article XII Elections Section 13.

In order to be eligible to be nominated for a position on any of the Boards, the following

membership requirements shall apply:

• President: Five consecutive years. Have to be member for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024

• Board of Trustees: Three consecutive years immediately prior to the current year. Must be a member for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024

• Board of Directors: One year immediately prior to the current year. Must be a Member of WVMA for 2023 and 2024

Please Note:

• No individual may serve on the same board for more than two consecutive terms,

  whether or not that individual has served the complete term.

• The individual may serve on that same board after a one-year break.

• Eligible WVMA member cannot nominate or second candidates for more than two

• positions.
