Guest Speaker: Sheikh Wael El Zein

Sheikh Wael El Zein began his speaking career officially in 2004 in where he recited his majalis in Al Mahdi Center in the Muharram of 2004. Moreover, he delivered many speeches on various occasions in different centers in Toronto, such as Bayview Masjid, and York University, London ON, Al Huda Centre, the Afghan Canadian Islamic Community Centre and Kingston ON, Halifax, Calgary and Virginia U.S.A, Hyderi Islamic centre in London U.K and Maatam Tanzania Dubai, UAE. Many of the lectures can be found online.

He moved to Windsor ON in 2006 to join the Imam Hussain(AS) Foundation Hawza, which further gave him an opportunity to expand his studies with different scholars. Now residing in Ottawa, Sheikh Wael still serves the podium of Imam Hussain(AS).

Sheikh Wael worked on establishing different youth clubs/programs in various cities mainly in the province of Ontario. His aim is to create a fraternity of Muslim Youth in the west to prepare them to become leaders of tomorrow. In 2013 he moved back to Ottawa and was one of the founders of the 313 youth organization which later developed to become the Ark Centre of Excellence. The centre was a base for the youth of the community that offered an entertainment facility, religious programs and academic activities. The centre offered youth counseling, weekly sessions/discussions on different topics mainly the challenges that face the youth in the west, plus regular weekend lectures on Quran tafseer, history and Aqida.
