Respiratory virus season is here. Many respiratory viruses are already spreading across the community and peak season is still a few months away. While our hearts long to come to the masjid for Jummah, and the daily prayers, and for other gatherings, please remember that if you have any symptoms — fever, cough, runny nose, body aches, chills, fatigue, etc — then we ask that you stay home to keep the rest of the community members safe.
The obligation to pray at the masjid is relaxed when you are sick. Sneezing and coughing during the Imam’s sermon can be distracting and you will likely infect people around you. You will be respectful of the masjid and the congregants if you stay home if you are ill or return home if you discover that you are feeling ill. Jazakumullah Khairan.
