Urgent Advisory: U.S. Department of State Urges U.S. Citizens to Depart Lebanon Amid Volatile Security Situation
The U.S. Department of State has no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens overseas. We are working 24/7 to help U.S. citizens in Lebanon. As the security situation in Lebanon continues to be volatile and unpredictable, we urge U.S. citizens to depart Lebanon now using commercial means or to relocate, if possible, to a safer location within Lebanon. Commercial flights remain available and to further increase the capacity of flights to nearby safe locations, the United States is organizing additional flights for U.S. citizens, their accompanying immediate family members, and lawful permanent residents (LPRs) with valid travel documents to depart Lebanon for a nearby safe location.
U.S. citizens in Lebanon who want to receive information about departure or loan assistance should fill out this crisis intake form. If you have already filled out the form, please do not fill it out more than once for the same individuals, as this will slow down our ability to respond.
The State Department’s Travel Advisory for Lebanon is Level Four – Do Not Travel. On September 16, 2024, the Department of State launched a new version of the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), through which U.S. citizens can sign up to receive security updates from the Embassy. Anyone previously enrolled in the STEP system should re-enroll to continue receiving alerts. If you are in contact with U.S. citizens in Lebanon, please encourage them to register for STEP.
Please feel free to pass this webinar information to others with a connection to Lebanon who could benefit from this information.
Please note: This event will be held in English and is closed to press.
