Dhul-Hijjah Message From Imam Moharram

**

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon His final Messenger Muhammad, and upon his family, companions, and all who follow in their footsteps.

Dear Respected Brothers and Sisters,**

It is with great joy and deep gratitude to Allah that we announce the arrival of a truly blessed seasonthe first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, May 28, 1446 AH, in sh Allah. These are days of divine favor and unmatched opportunity for spiritual growth, renewal, and nearness to Allah.

The Excellence of These Ten Days

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days.
They said, O Messenger of Allah, not even jihad for the sake of Allah?
He replied, Not even jihad for the sake of Allahexcept for a man who goes out with his life and wealth and returns with nothing.
[Authentic: al-Bukhr (969), Ab Dwd (2438)]

These ten days are preferred even over the days of Ramadan in terms of the merit of righteous actions. Ibn Abbs (may Allah be pleased with him) explained that Allah swore by them in the Quran:

By the dawn, and the ten nights.
[Surah al-Fajr: 12]
Ibn Kathr said: These ten nights refer to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

Recommended Actions During These Days

Let us seize this golden opportunity with sincerity and vigor. Among the most virtuous acts we can do during these days:

1. Fasting the First Nine Days

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to fast these days:
The Messenger of Allah used to fast the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, the Day of shr, and three days of every month.
[Narrated by Abu Dwd (2437); graded authentic by al-Albn]
Fasting is one of the dearest acts to Allah:
Fast, for there is nothing equal to it.
[Musnad Amad (5/264), al-Nasai, al-Bayhaqi Authentic]
Especially fast on the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul-Hijjah) for those not performing Hajj. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.
[Muslim (1162)]
Note: Fasting on Eid day (10th Dhul-Hijjah) and the days of Tashrq (1113) is prohibited.
[Muslim, Abu Dwd]

2. Increased Remembrance of Allah (Dhikr)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged repeating:
Allhu Akbar, Allhu Akbar, L ilha illa Allh, Allhu Akbar wa lillhil-amd.
It is reported that:
Ibn Umar and Ab Hurayrah would go out to the market in the ten days and raise their voices with takbr, and the people would follow their example.
[al-Bukhr Muallaq form]
Also, Allah commands:
O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance, and glorify Him morning and evening.
[Surah al-Azb: 4142]

3. Reading, Reflecting, and Acting upon the Quran

The Quran is the eternal source of guidance. These days are ideal for dedicating extra time to recitation, understanding, and implementing its commands.

4. Sincere Repentance and Renewed Commitment

Return to Allah with sincere tawbah (repentance), clean your heart, and correct your path. There is no better time to mend what is broken in your relationship with your Creator.

5. Sending Peace and Blessings Upon the Prophet (peace be upon him)

Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings and peace upon him abundantly.
[Surah al-Azb: 56]

6. Charity, Generosity, and Helping the Needy

Giving in charity, supporting the poor, and easing the burdens of others are among the best deeds in these days. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Charity does not decrease wealth.[Muslim]

7. Honoring Parents and Upholding Family Ties

These acts are among the greatest ways to earn Allahs pleasure. They are especially emphasized during sacred times.

8. Udhiyah (Sacrificial Offering)

The udhiyah is a strongly emphasized Sunnah (Sunnah muakkadah). It revives the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Ibn Umar said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) offered sacrifice, and so did the Muslims with him. [al-Bukhr]
Guidelines:
The animal must be free of defects and meet Islamic standards.
It must be slaughtered after the Eid prayer, and the time for offering extends over three days after Eid.
One who intends to offer the sacrifice should not cut hair or nails from the start of Dhul-Hijjah until the sacrifice is done.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
When the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah is sighted, and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not touch his hair or nails.
[Muslim (1977)]
Note: The meat of the sacrifice should be:
        Eaten by the family,
Shared with relatives and friends ,
Given in charity to the poor.
It is not allowed to sell any part of the meat, skin, or fat.

Final Reflection

Let us renew our hearts with faith, our homes with worship, and our community with love and righteousness during these blessed days.

So race to all that is good. [Surah al-Baqarah: 148]

We ask Allah to accept our deeds, forgive our shortcomings, and bless us with sincerity and steadfastness.

Taqabbal Allhu minn wa minkum
May Allah accept from us and from you

Wishing you a blessed Dhul-Hijjah. May you be closer to Allah and more consistent in righteous actions.

Warmest regards,
Imam Ahmed Moharram
