NEW / IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THIS WEEK
Alhamdulillah, our community came together for the ISK Summer Bazaar in support of the mosque extension project. We sincerely thank everyone who attended, donated, and volunteered to make the event a success. Special thanks to the local businesses, vendors, and restaurants who supported the event: Dingalings, NaanStop Express, Popeyes, Pizza Pizza, Kabab 44, Rooster Shack, and Limestone Kabab House. May Allah (SWT) bless them all and grant them continued success. Ameen.
Alhamdulillah, a total of $13,588.02 was collected on the day, all of which will go toward the mosque extension project.
Here are the latest construction updates:
Recent achievements:
Structural framing has started (photo attached)
Stair foundations complete (photo of formwork attached)
Existing sidewalk removed to make room for the new design (photo attached)
Septic tank system installation is on hold pending Ministry of Environment approval (photo attached of tanks in ground)
Link slab poured, framing is underway with the main building
Excavation sifting of building and septic excavation materials complete
Production of special Kalwall windows is pending drawing review, material sample approval, and as-built dimensions
Next steps:
Truss delivery scheduled for Monday, Aug. 18
Structural framing will continue over the coming weeks
Next city inspection will be at completion of framing

We are honored to welcome Sister Uzma Ahmed to Kingston for a special community talk addressing a critical topic facing Muslim families today: raising children with strong Islamic values in an ever-challenging world.

About the Speaker:
Uzma Ahmed is the Director of Education and Training at the Institute of Integrated Knowledge, Hartford, USA. She holds a BSc Hons. in International Relations from the University of London, an MA in International Relations from Queen Mary University of London, and a Diploma in Islamic Education.
With 25 years of experience as an Educational Consultant, Primary School Principal, Curriculum Developer, Researcher in Islamic Education, and Teacher Trainer, she has worked with schools worldwide. She also conducts courses in Quran Tafsir, Sirah, Islamic history, and personal development, and speaks on contemporary Islamic issues in the Muslim world. She has authored primary-level English textbooks and reading books, and her expertise lies in curriculum design, teacher development, and helping communities bridge the gap between deen and dunya in the classroom and at home.

Every Sunday from 4:00PM to 5:30PM, community members gather outside City Hall at 216 Ontario Street to offer dawah to the wider Kingston community. Alhamdulilah, So far, many dedicated volunteers have contributed their time and effort to share knowledge and build connections with the wider community.
To grow this important work and expand dawah efforts throughout Kingston, more volunteers are needed. Trainings and ongoing support are provided to help you feel confident and prepared.
Together, we can strengthen our community outreach and invite more community members into the fold of Islam, inshaAllah.
