Remember to bring your own reusable water bottles, as the park water fountains are not drinkable. We also encourage everyone to bring chairs, sunshades or umbrellas, and prayer mats or sheets for Dhuhr prayer. Looking forward to a fun and relaxing day together as a community, inshaAllah!
Where Olive Trees Weep - Film Screening

We invite you to a special community screening of Where Olive Trees Weep a powerful and deeply moving documentary that offers a window into the ongoing struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people living under occupation.
The film follows the stories of Palestinian journalist Ashira Darwish, activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass, alongside trauma-healing work by Dr. Gabor Mat with women who have survived torture in Israeli prisons. Through vivid storytelling and raw testimonies, the film explores themes of loss, trauma, and the enduring human spirit in the face of oppression.

Manar Academy End of Year Celebration & Open House *Time Change

Were excited to launch a Womens Book Club - a space to connect, reflect, and grow through meaningful reads and discussions. Whether youre a lifelong book lover or just looking for a warm community to join, this is for you!
Our first meeting will be held on Saturday, June 21st from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and will focus on introductions and choosing our first book together.

Women's Self Defense Class

ISK Eid Salah
This past Eid, thousands of Muslims from across Kingston and the surrounding areas came together to pray in congregation at the Cataraqui Arena, Alhamdulillah. Many also gathered at the Mercy Musallah near the base. It was a beautiful reminder of how much our community has grown and how deeply connected we are.
We hope you and your families had a joyful and peaceful Eid day filled with blessings.
Jazakum Allahu Khayran to the incredible volunteers, some of whom are in the picture below who helped with setup, cleanup, and logistics before, during, and after the prayer. Your time and effort made this special day possible for so many.
May Allah continue to unite us in goodness, strengthen our bonds as a community, accept our efforts, and forgive us of our shortcomings. Ameen.

Engaging Diverse Voices to Improve Cancer Diagnosis
Share Your Story: Cancer Diagnosis Research Opportunity
Have you or a loved one experienced a cancer diagnosis? The Moonshot Collaborative for Translational Health Equity at Trillium Health Partners is conducting a research project to better understand and improve the cancer diagnosis process in Ontario.
They are looking to speak with individuals from the Black, Francophone, or Newcomer communities who have gone through a cancer diagnosis as a patient or caregiver. Participants will take part in a confidential 4560 minute virtual interview and receive a $50 honorarium in appreciation of their time.
