Job Title: Part-Time Youth Coordinator

Location: Santa Clara

Job Type: Part-Time (25 hours per week) | Limited Duration (January 17th 2024 – January 31st 2025)

Hours: Daytime. Some evenings and weekends may be required for activities and meetings.

About Us:

MAS Bay Area is dedicated to empowering and supporting youth in our community through meaningful programs and mentorship. We are currently seeking a passionate and organized Youth Coordinator to oversee and implement youth-focused initiatives, including activities for Afghan refugee youth funded by a grant, and MAS Bay Area’s broader youth programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant-Funded Activities (80%):

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects of grant implementation.

• Attend all required trainings and meetings (approximately 4 per month, 1.5 hours each).

• Complete onboarding requirements by end of January, including:

• Livescan report submission

• CANRA certification (training ~4 hours)

• HIPAA training (recommended, ~2 hours).

• Collaborate with local organizations to recruit Afghan refugee youth participants.

• Plan and coordinate 18 youth activities throughout the year to meet grant objectives, including:

• Securing venues, food, transportation, and supplies.

• Recruiting and coordinating guest speakers for forums when needed.

• Prepare and submit invoices in coordination with a payroll contractor.

• Complete all required grant forms and maintain accurate records (intake, eligibility, activity tracking, and evaluations)

• Track all activities, ensuring forms and reports are submitted on time.

• Complete quarterly reflections and other grant documentation as required.

MAS Bay Area Youth Programs (20%):

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Experience coordinating events or programs, particularly for youth.

• Familiarity with Afghan refugee communities or similar cultural contexts is a plus.

• Proficiency with basic online tools (email, forms, spreadsheets).

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
