Voting Information and Constitution Documents (Arabic and English) – October 4-6

Assalamu Alaikum MIA Community,

We pray this message reaches you in the best of health and Imaan, InshAllah. Attached below are the MIA Constitution documents in both Arabic and English. We encourage all members to familiarize themselves with the proposed amendments before the upcoming voting process.

Voting Schedule:
- October 4: Polls will open after the 1st Jumuah and continue until the 3rd Jumuah. In the evening, polls will open again from Maghrib to Isha.
- October 5: Polls will be open from Dhuhr (2 PM) to 3 PM, and in the evening from Maghrib to Isha.
- October 6: Polls will be open from Dhuhr (2 PM) to 3 PM, and from Maghrib to Isha. Polls will close at 10 PM on Sunday, October 6.

Please note that voters will be casting their votes on the amendment changes and must be active MIA members. Our Constitution Committee will provide each voter with a card to fill out during the process.

What is the Constitution?
The Constitution consists of by-laws to govern the affairs of the McKinney Islamic Association (MIA). MIA is organized under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act and is aligned with the Ahle-Sunnah wal Jamaa denomination.

Why Are We Amending the Constitution?
The original constitution is outdated and it is recommended that the MIA constitution be reviewed every five years. The community has grown significantly, and the amendments align with current challenges and goals.
