Dear Community Members, Assalam-o-Alaikum,

Dear Community Members,
Assalam o Alaikum!

Our vision at the Islamic Center of Johnson County is to foster a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive space that reflects our shared Islamic values. We are committed to building a future where our center serves not only as a place of worship but as a heart for learning, service, and unity. Central to our mission is empowering our youth to become confident, unapologetic Muslims and future leaders of our community.

This vision requires dedication, commitment, and the invaluable contribution of countless volunteer hours from our community members. We extend our deepest gratitude to those who selflessly offer their time and energy in service to our community.

As the ICJC Board, we are entrusted with guiding this vision forward. Maintaining the health and sustainability of our institution is crucial for our continued growth and success. We recognize that challenges arise, and we are committed to addressing them with honesty, fairness and intentionality.

Leaders like Imam Dahee are the pillars of our community, and we were all deeply affected with the resignation. Both Imam Dahee and the ICJC Board committed to a process of thoughtful dialogue and reconsideration. We never believed there were any irreconcilable issues.

We are pleased to share that Imam Dahee will be staying with ICJC and will continue his vital work as our Imam and Quran school teacher at ICJC. Alhamdulillah!

We understand that announcements such as a resignation can cause confusion and concern.
This is a test from Allah, challenging us to show patience and steadfastness. Regrettably, some community members formed opinions based on misperceptions, rumors, and misinformation.
Their actions, taken without proper verification, led to division, mistrust, and anxiety in some parts of our community. We must remember to seek the truth with sincerity and avoid hastily forming judgments that divide us.
By the grace of Allah, we remain resilient and are confident that this test will strengthen and unite us further.

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.
Surah Al-Imran (3:103)

May Allah SWT protect, guide, and bless our community.

With sincerity,
The ICJC Board of Trustees
