Update on ICOI Solar Project – City & SCE Permits

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Community Members,

We wanted to keep you informed about the progress of our solar project. Alhamdulillah, weve been diligently working through the necessary steps, and while there have been a few challenges along the way, were getting closer to the finish line.

In the first week of August 2024, we submitted applications for both City of Irvine and Southern California Edison (SCE) permits. The City of Irvines codes are very thorough, and while weve had a few required corrections, their detailed approach is certainly reassuring. Heres a quick timeline of our progress so far:

• August 8th: The Fire Department approved the plan after corrections were submitted.

• September 29th: SCE passed their review.

Since then, weve been monitoring the progress of our application closely with the City of Irvine. Due to an unexpected hold on our application, we have been personally visiting the City office over the past two weeks to push for updates. Alhamdulillah, the City has expedited our request, and we received confirmation that the new target completion date for the permit is November 19, 2024.

Once we have City approval, we will immediately begin the installation phase. The solar panels and other materials are already in hand, and we are prepared to expedite the installation process as soon as we get the green light.
