Islamic Relief Meal Pack

Islamic Relief USA, MIC, & Memphis Interfaith will be hosting a Meal Pack project at the Memphis Islamic Center on Friday February 21st, 2025. Please join us for an opportunity to pack 30K meals which will be distributed to local communities in need in the Memphis area.
Volunteers should be 14 & up.

Family Fun Night will be this Friday February 21st at 7PM in the West Hall (New Phase)

Program Details:
On family fun nights, there will be activity rooms available for ages 12 & under located in the new phase of the building from the new updated time 7:00PM - 9:30PM. Each room will have various activities such as legos, arts & crafts, movies, and a child care room.
All children ages 12 & under are required and must be checked into one of these rooms. There will be a check in desk available for parents to check their kids in. All kids must be picked up by 9:30PM from these rooms.
This aims to provide our community a safe, fun, and supervised environment for everyone.

Speaker Bio
Shaykh Umer Khan graduated as an Islamic scholar with an ʻālim degree from Al-Salam Institute, authorized by Dar al-ʻUlūm Nadwat al-ʻUlamā', Lucknow, India. He also completed a traditional Dars-e-Niẓāmī dawrah of the six canonical books of ḥadīth. Shaykh Umer completed his iftā' (License to Give Islamic Legal Verdicts) from Darulifta Birmingham, granting him the traditional title of 'mufti'. He was also authorized by Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi to give fatwā. He has a Master's in Finance (from Wharton, UPenn) and another Master's in Islamic Finance and he holds several professional certifications and qualifications in Islamic Finance. Shaykh Umer teaches the Islamic sciences at seminaries (Institute of Knowledge and Al-Salam Institute), researches and writes fatwās (legal verdicts) for various institutions, and serves as a sharīʻah advisor to a number of companies. He is also an executive member of the Fiqh Council of North America.

From 9am to 10am facilitated by Ayesha Akhtar, MPH.
During the session, Ayesha will cover the top 10 list with very tangible action items to enable the attendees to make the connection between a healthy body and being fully prepared for Ramadan.
"Diet and Fasting: Benefits, Myths, and Tips for a Successful Fast" Session 2: From 10am to 11am facilitated by Lamees Lahham, RD, LD from Sincere Nutrition.
During the session, Lamees will cover the following key topics:
1. The benefits of fasting.
2. Common myths and misconceptions about fasting.
3. Practical tips for a successful and healthy fast.
