This Weekend: Meet 3 Youth Director Candidates
Salam Dear ICOI Community,
As part of our effort to invest meaningfully in our youth, we are in the process of hiring male and female Youth Directors. To ensure the best possible fit for our community, we are bringing top candidates onsite for an extended interview experienceand we want you and your youth to be part of it.
Why On-Site Interviews?
This is a common best practice in hiring for community-based roles. It allows us to go beyond a traditional interview and actually see candidates in actioninteracting with our youth, participating in programs, and experiencing our masjid environment firsthand.
It also gives the candidates a chance to understand the unique culture and spirit of ICOI, which is critical for long-term alignment and success. Ultimately, it helps both sides determine whether this is the right fit.
How You Can Participate
We encourage everyoneespecially families with youthto engage in two key moments this weekend:
Friday Night Youth Program:
The candidate will lead a program with the youth, followed by a community forum for parents to ask questions and share thoughts. Its a great chance to see how they interact with young people and learn more about their approach.
Saturday Community Event:
The candidate will also be present at our larger community event on Saturday. This is not part of the formal interview, but a wonderful bonus opportunity to see them in a natural, community setting. Were not expecting anyone to interview the candidate herejust engage, be yourselves, and allow the candidates to experience the warmth of our community.
A Quick Note on the Process
These individuals are still candidates, not final hires. Being brought onsite means theyve made the short list, not that a decision has been made. We anticipate bringing in other candidates in the coming weeks as well. This is just one important step in a thoughtful process.
