As-salaamu alaikum Dear RCM Community,
We are nowseeking nominations for two community membersto serve on theRCM Board Selection Committee (BSC). These individuals will play a vital role in shaping the future of our masjids leadership.
What is the Board Selection Committee?
TheBoard Selection Committee (BSC)is empowered by the bylaws to select new members to the RCM Board of Trustees. This is an important responsibility. If the BSCunanimously endorses a slateof board candidates, those candidates will become members of RCMs board. This gives the BSC a central role and very important responsibility in selecting future trustees. It is critical that the BSC members are highly skilled in assessing people skills, experience, and commitment level.
Who Serves on the BSC?
The BSC is composed offive members:
2****community-nominatedmembers (selected via this process and approved by the Governance Committee)
2 members appointed by the current Board
1 member appointed by the Religious Affairs Committee
The committee must include at least two members from each gender. BSC members serve athree-year termand may not serve more than one consecutive term. Members of the board selection committee may not be nominees to be on the board themselves.
BSC Responsibilities Include:
Collaborating with the Board to assess leadership needs
Publishing clear criteria and rubrics for board nominations
Soliciting and evaluating board nominees
Overseeing interviews and selection
All BSC members will be expected to sign a conflict-of-interest disclosure and maintain confidentiality throughout the process.
How to Nominate Someone (or Yourself)
We encourage you to nominate yourself or a fellow community member who demonstrates:
Integrity and amanah (trustworthiness)
Knowledge of RCM and commitment to its mission
Community involvement and good standing
Willingness to contribute time and thoughtful service
