Pay your Zakat al Fitr before Eid

Jumuah Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters.

The 27th night has come and passed, but Ramadan is still here. Let us not taper off in worship now. Instead, lets intensify our efforts, seeking the abundant blessings that remain. Thefinish line is near, but the race is not over.

While the nights of Ramadan are renowned for their spiritual weight, do not underestimate the days:
Verily, Allah has people He redeems in every day and night of Ramadan.
(Musnad Ahmad 7450)

Each moment is still an opportunity for redemption, each breath a chance for nearness to Allah. Seize it.

Never belittle your good deeds, no matter how small. As the Quran reminds us:So whoever does an atoms weight of good will see it. (99:7)

Your whispered dua, your discreet charity, your fleeting moments of dhikrall are recorded, cherished, and rewarded.

So, let your heart befully present in these final days. Engage in earnest supplication, lose yourself in the beauty of the Quran, and fill your time with acts of kindness and service. For every sincere effort is seen by Allah and met with His boundless mercy.

May all our worship be accepted. May we leave this Ramadan purified and redeemed, with hearts steadfast and soulsrenewedlike the day we were born, free of sin.

Be Generous like the Prophet

In the spirit of Ramadan - a month where the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him, was more generous than the free wind - we humbly ask you to give to sustain our year-round programming with a donation amount significant toyou.

Imagine embracing Islam, feeling the beauty of faith yet having no one to guide you. No teacher to answer your questions. No community to support you. No one to show you how to pray. For thousands of new Muslims, this isreality.

Since 2006, MECCA provides Islamic education, mentorship, and essential resources to ensure no Muslim is left struggling

Why not end this blessed day with a Sadaqah Jariyah that will continue benefiting others for years to come?

Eid and Zakat al Fitr Reminder

MECCA follows the Sunnah of sighting the moon to begin the new Islamic month.

As such, in shaa Allah, we will inform the community on Saturday night for the status of the moon sighting to signal the end of Ramadan. If it is sighted, then in shaa Allah, Eid will be on Sunday and we will be holding a live khutbah (sermon) open to the community on Youtube. Otherwise if the moon is not sighted, then Ramadan will continue for another day and the first day of Eid will be Monday.

Don't forget to give your Zakat al Fitr before the Eid prayer. This zakat is obligatory for the head of the household and the amount to be given is multiplied by each dependent in the household. The zakat is distributed to those in need and is a means to purify one's mistakes while fasting.

MECCA does not take Zakat al Fitr so please turn to your local mosque or online charity organizations like Islamic Relief.

Zakat al Fitr: $12/person
