Jumuah Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters.
The Story of Zahir
You are priceless in the sight of Allah.
Picture the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gently conveying this truth directly to you. His words, like balm for thesoul, remind you of your worth when the world or your inner doubts tell you otherwise.
Theres a moment in the life of the Beloved Prophet when he came across a man named Zahir, someone of humble means and considered as not good-looking by society.
While Zahir was selling goods, the Prophet playfullycaught him by surprise, grabbing him from behind. Startled, Zahir exclaimed, "Who is this? Let go of me!" But when he realized it was the Prophet , he relaxed, leaning back into the comfort of the Prophets embrace.
The Prophet , with his unmatched sense of love and humor, asked, "Who will buy this slave?"
Zahir responded, "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, you will find me unsellable!"
But the Prophet reassured him, "But you are not unsellable in the eyes of Allah!" or "You are precious to Allah."
(Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah238)
Though Zahir deemed himself as worthless, our beloved Prophet empowered him with these loving words. Because what truly matters is a persons status in the sight of Allah, not in the eyes of people. Someone deemed worthless or ugly by the world may be held in the highest regard by Allah the Exalted.
Just as Zahir was uplifted by the Prophet , so too was Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him, who was sold for a few coins, deemed insignificant by those around himyet honored as a noble Prophet by Allah.
Sunnah of Kindness to Act Upon
This truth applies to every soul aroundyou.
We are reminded never to judge by appearance or status, for what may seem insignificant to us could be priceless in the sight of the Most Merciful. True worth lies in Allahs eyes, not in the fleeting judgments of the world.
The Prophet said: "Whoever desires to be saved from the Hellfire and admitted to Paradiseshould die with faith in Allah and the Last Day, and treat others as they would want to be treated." (Sahih Muslim 1844)
This timeless golden rule that we have known since youngtreating others with the kindness you hope for yourselfechoes through every aspect of life.
In Rabi' al-Awwal, the blessed monthof the Prophets birth, let these truths shape your interactionswith others and with yourself.
Practice this Salawat today.
