The Islamic Center of Southern California unequivocally condemns President Donald Trumps Most Recent Statement on Resettling Palestinians
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
And when they are told, Do not spread corruption on earth, they answer, We are but improving things! (Quran 2:11)
The Islamic Center of Southern California unequivocally condemns President Donald Trumps outrageous claim that the United States should own the Gaza Strip under the pretense of cleaning up the destruction and would rather resettle them in a new housing development somewhere in Jordan or Egypt. This proposal is nothing less than an endorsement of ethnic cleansing, aimed at forcibly removing PalestiniansMuslims and Christians alikefrom their homeland.
As people of faith, we will not remain silent in the face of tyranny. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us:
Whoever among you sees an evil, let them change it with their hand; if they are unable to do so, then with their tongue; and if they are unable to do so, then hate it in their heart and that is the weakest of faith. (Sahih Muslim)
We call upon our elected officialslocal, state, and federalto reject this dangerous rhetoric and take a stand for justice. The struggle for Palestinian liberation is not just a Muslim or Christian issue; it is a human issue. People of all faiths and backgrounds must come together to oppose injustice wherever it manifests.
In moments like these, when injustice feels overwhelming, we remind ourselves of the divine promise:
Be not, then, faint of heart, and grieve not: for you are bound to rise high if you are [truly] believers. (Quran 3:139)
We urge our community to remain steadfast, to pray, to speak out, and to act with the conviction that justice will prevail. May God guide us all in the pursuit of truth and righteousness.
We are an independent organization whose primary goal is the development of a vibrant American Muslim identity through spiritual, educational, and recreational activities. \
