Important message from the Chief of Police of FH-Youth Gatherings
CPAC Members,
As discussed in our most recent meeting the police department is asking for assistance with the following.
Since early June, large groups of young people, some in excess of 200 people, have been gathering in various local parking lots, including 7-Eleven at Orchard Lake and 13 Mile Road, Buffalo Wild Wings at Orchard Lake and 14 Mile Road, and the business plaza at 12 Mile and Farmington Road. While these gatherings initially remained peaceful, business owners and patrons have reported incidents of theft and growing unease due to the crowd sizes.
Two weekends ago, a large house party near 10 Mile and Inkster attracted several hundred attendees. Unfortunately, gun shots were fired during the event. Thankfully no one was reported injured by the gunfire, or the resulting panic, which led to reckless driving through residential yards as attendees attempted to flee. Following the incident, many of the same young people resumed loitering in the previously mentioned parking lots.
I am deeply concerned that if this pattern continues, someone may be seriously injured or worse. Social media is rapidly amplifying these gatherings, transforming small meetups into unpredictable and unsafe environments.
I am asking for the community’s help in addressing this issue. Specifically, I urge parents and guardians to speak with their children about steering clear of these locations and avoiding large unsupervised gatherings. I also encourage families to monitor their children's whereabouts and help us prevent further escalation.
The Farmington Hills Police Department remains committed to upholding the safety and quality of life in our city through strong community partnerships and proactive policing. The community will see an increased officer presence in these areas in the coming days to address these issues.
I thank you for your continued support and advocacy. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to share this message with any person or group who you feel can get this message out.
Sincerely,
John

Tawheed Cricket League 2025
It’s not a stadium under lights or a field of grass — it’s just a parking lot behind our masjid. But what makes it special isn’t the location — it’s the spirit. Players, spectators, and volunteers — all united by brotherhood, community, and the love of the game.
This is the Tawheed Cricket League — where the competition is real, the bonds are stronger, and the brotherhood goes far beyond the boundary.
