This month's article is a memorial to the political objective that drove him throughout his entire life, before and after his Hajj and embrace of Sunni Islam: complete freedom by any means necessary.
This month we're re-releasing our article titled, "" by our Director of Education, Dr. Will Caldwell.
"Policies change, and programs change, according to time. But objectives never change. You might change your method of achieving the objective, but the objective never changes. Our objective is complete freedom, complete justice, complete equality, by any means necessary."
-Malcolm X
Today, we remember the passing of one of our heroes, Malcolm X, who was assassinated at the Audubon Ballroom on February 21, 1965. Malcolm is a leader who still inspires us today because he was relentless and uncompromising in pursuing the truth and freedom for his people. This month's article is a memorial to the political objective that drove him throughout his entire life, before and after his Hajj and embrace of Sunni Islam: complete freedom by any means necessary.
Malcolm X was a political revolutionary who opposed racial oppression in the U.S. as well as the solutions offered by the Civil Rights Movement. While his life was cut short, he inspired generations of other African American Muslims who continued his fight for freedom after his death. Theirs is a story many American Muslims no longer remember. However, they still have much to teach us about the challenges we still face as a community today.
Peace and blessings,
Dr. Will Caldwell
Director of Education

The 1000 Hearts campaign is an effort to gather 1000 Hearts together in support of Ta'leefs work. 1000 supporters coming together forming one beating heart that helps keep this work alive. By giving $3 a day($90/month recurring) we would meet our annual budget and more. 1000 hearts came from an effort to highlight the individuals that we take care of at Ta'leef. The seeker, the newcomer and the youth. By giving $1/day for each category above you would sustain our work and beneficiaries at Ta'leef. Please support so we can continue lending a heart to those that need our support the most!
