Dear Community members,

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our former Board of Directors president, brother Mohammed Jawaid Isa, for his years of dedicated service to the EPIC community. He has recently stepped down from his position fdue to personal reasons. We pray that Allah grants him ease and provides support to his family. In the meantime, brother Abdullah Shegow, our vice-president, will assume the role of interim president as we conduct special elections to fill the vacancy for the seventh board member position.

We want to reassure the community that there will be no interruptions to the services and programs offered by epic. The current board members will continue to fulfill their duties to ensure everything runs smoothly as usual.

As per EPIC constitution, ARTICLE VIII, section-D ".....the BoD the shall form a new election committee for a special election to fill the vacancy within sixty (60) days". Therefore, the board will begin the process of forming an ad hoc Election Committee so that the vacancy can be filled immediately.

The current Board of Directors will not appoint such a committee, and will, instead, seek the open volunteering of EPIC members from the community who are sincerely willing to help and participate. If you’re interested in joining the Election Committee and fulfill its critical tasks, then please contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible, with a deadline of Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at 9:00 pm.

The Election Committee will consist of five (5) members in good standing of the EPIC General Body. The five members will be selected randomly by drawing names publicly. The Election Committee will work independently of the board. The board will appoint a liaison to facilitate coordination between the Election Committee and the board.

If you would like to be part of the Election Committee we strongly recommend that you review "ARTICLE VII – ELECTIONS" section of the EPIC constitution, which contains a comprehensive list of guidelines and requirements.
