Gilroy Winter Jacket & Shoes Drive

As a SVIC member, I coordinated a shoe & jacket drive for children in Gilroy who were in need for the cold winter. They are all part of Rebekahs Children Services in Gilroy. These children are either in foster care or extremely low poverty and did not have proper shoes or jackets for winter.
I was able to collaborate with a group of Muslim women & girls from the Pacifica Institute to provide a total of 37 new jackets & new shoes for children ages 5 months to 16 years old.

We also organized an art and game night for the children to experience. Alhumdulillah, my husband, Naeem was able to join since many of these children do not have a male role model. The boy Naeem played the game with hugged Naeem as we left, that was huge because that boy was very shy.

Membership Info

Please update your membership information so that you will receive the latest information. Be sure to include emails for all 16 years and over so that all members of the family can receive information of our events. Fill in the annual SVIC membership form found on our website svic.org and mail it to our post office box in Morgan Hill or email us scanned copy. Dues of $25 each is due for the year.
