📌 Shura Election - Last Day to Nominate Candidates
This email is a humble reminder that today is the last day left to nominate candidates for the position of Shura or Ameer.

Dear community members,
This email is a humble reminder that today is the final day to nominate candidates for the position of Shura or Ameer. InshaAllah, the final list of candidates will be posted on October 25th, 2024 to allow candidates sufficient time for background checks, withdrawal, and finalization.
The deadline to nominate a candidate is at 9:30pm today. There will be NO exceptions to this deadline for any reason. We strongly encourage to not delay in submitting nomination forms.
The diagram below contains a general schedule for upcoming events related to the IACC 2024 Shura and Ameer Election. You may also download a copy of this schedule via this link or by clicking the diagram.
Candidate qualifications in accordance with IACC Constitution Article 7 guidelines can be found below:
- The Candidate must be a registered member of IACC.
- Candidates for the office of Ameer must have maintained continuous residency in Collin County for a minimum of two years leading up to October 14, 2024.
- Candidates for the office of Shura Member must have maintained continuous residency in Collin County for a minimum of one year leading up to October 14, 2024.
- Candidates running for the office of Ameer shall not hold or accept any position such as Chairman, Chairman-Elect, President, Vice President or Treasurer of any other Islamic/Muslim non-profit organization.
- The candidates and nominators must be practicing Muslim & frequent attendees of IACC.
Additional rules and regulations:1. A Candidate can only contest for either Shura member or Ameer Positions. Any candidate nominated for Ameer AND Shura position will be disqualified for both positions. 2. Nominations forms will only be accepted if signed by both Candidate and Nominator. Nomination forms shall be submitted in a drop-box at IACC main office or it can be emailed* to [email protected] no later than 9:30 pm on October 14, 2024. 3. Nomination form must be signed with a pen before being scanned for email. 4. Candidates and any surrogates of the candidates shall not be allowed to solicit/campaign within the perimeter of IACC property. 5. All candidates must adhere to Section 2.1 of IACC Constitution and as further clarified in the Declaration of Faith document. 6. All candidates must sign the consent form for a Background Check by the Election Commission. The background check will be performed on the final list of candidates nominated for Shura and Ameer positions. Nomination forms can be downloaded via this link.

Digitally signed nomination forms will not be accepted.
