Imam Kemal's Khutbah at 1pm
Among the duas of the Prophet is one that is both poetic and powerfula request not just for guidance, but for illumination surround, fill, and carry us through life:
O Allah, place within my heart light, and upon my tongue light, and within my ears light, and within my eyes light, and place behind me light, and in front of melight, and above me light, and beneath me light. O Allah, bestow upon me light.
[Sahih Muslim and Bukhari]
It is the prayer of a heart that wants to walk through the world without confusion, darkness, misguidance, and despair.
This dua is a shield. Its a way to say:
Ya Allah, dont leave me in the darknot in my choices, not in my relationships, not in my soul.
Why?
BecauseAllah is the source of all light.
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth(Quran 24:35)
May your path be lit with His mercy, your heart anchored in His remembrance, and your Jumuah be full of light upon light.
