Sisters' Tea & Talk
Every 2nd Thursday May 9 | 7:30-9:30pm
Guest Speaker: Sr. Helena Madera-Silmi
Helena Madera-Silmi has been in the community outreach space for over 25 years and is the Charitable Aid Director of Al-Misbaah; an aid organization in the Sacramento area where she established a Community Resource Center which has served over 10,000 refugees. She is also an accredited Traditional Holistic Islamic Therapist. She will be speaking on the topic of balancing hardship and staying spiritually connected.
This is a group for sisters 18+ to gather to support each other discussing current events, relevant topics and collective challenges we face.
7:30-8pm tea/snacks followed by Maghrib and discussion from 8:15-9:30 with guest speaker.

Deadline to Apply for Muslim Youth Leadership Program: May 5
Become a change maker alongside fellow Muslim high school students across California. Join CAIR California's Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP)an intensive four-day leadership retreat in Sacramento from Thursday, July 25, to Sunday, July 28.
At MYLP, you will:
- Dive into advocacy, debate, law, media, and public-policy creation through workshops and even a mock legislative session on the California Senate floor!
- Connect with inspiring activists, lawmakers, and Muslim youth leaders.
