Support Camp Noor
Salaamun Alaykum,
We pray that you are well. Alhumdullilah this past weekend, Camp Noor hosted our 4th annual S'mores Night. This event focuses on creating a community-focused and Islamic environment catered to the youth.
This year, due to the rain, S'mores Night had to be moved indoors with electric s'mores makers instead of firepits. Hall 102 was setup with the s'mores makers and s'mores kits that contained bags of marshmallows, chocolate bars, packets of graham crackers, chips, skewers, bowls and napkins. We also made hot chocolate for all attendees! The program started with the recitation of Munajat of Imam Ali (a.s.), followed by game of Community Jeopardy that focused on the accomplishments of our own community members, facts about the Saba and it's entities, and even some questions about our local scholars. The winning team got a small prize. We ended the night with a Spiritual Reminder by Maulana Abidi and also projected a QR Code that allowed attendees to donate to feed families in Lebanon and Palestine.
This is just one of the many events Camp Noor hosts, along with our annual camp for youth (this is year 12!). We are blessed to have such a supportive community who allow our events to be possible. Our community understands the importance of these youth-led events for youth to grow in their Muslim identity and become future leaders for our community!
