SABA Condemns the Ongoing persecution of Shia Muslims in Parachinar
SABA Condemns the ongoing persecution of Shia Muslims in Pakistan, particularly the escalating crisis in Parachinar.
In recent days, violence has once again erupted in Khurram, resulting in the tragic deaths of 43 individuals and injuries to 164 others. This region has long suffered from sectarian violence and bloodshed targeting Shia Muslim communities. In early July 2023, what began as a land dispute escalated into a violent conflict. Parachinar faced missile attacks from three sides for several days, leading to the deaths of 13 people and injuries to at least 160 others, including many children. This violence continues unabated, leaving the Shia communities in Parachinar under siege. Despite this ongoing crisis, there has been little to no intervention from Pakistani authorities to acknowledge the anti-Shia violence or protect these communities.
A protest is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fremont, CA, Lake Elizabeth - Corner of Paseo Padre & Stevenson Boulevard.
