In times of dissonance, many seek guidance and solace. The soul, which originates from the heavenly realm, longs for meaning and a deeper connection with God, the Exalted. As the Quran reminds us, "Indeed, in the remembrance of God do hearts find peace." [Quran 13:28] This monthly gathering, led by Amjad Tarsin, combines the remembrance of Allah (dhikr) with a study of The Book of Assistance, a foundational text in Islamic spirituality written by the esteemed Imam 'Abd-Allah al-addad. The aim is to nourish the heart through remembrance and enrich the mind with sacred knowledge, fostering both spiritual growth and inner peace.

Amjad Tarsin was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He obtained his Bachelors of Arts at the University of Michigan in English Literature and Islamic Studies.
After completing his BA, Amjad spent an intensive year studying at the illustrious Dar al-Mustafa for Islamic Sciences in Tarim, Yemen. He then enrolled at Hartford Seminarys Islamic Chaplaincy program where he completed his Masters Degree.

He previously served as the Executive Director and Head Chaplain of the Muslim Chaplaincy at the University of Toronto, becoming Canadas first full-time Muslim Chaplain at a university in September 2012. In addition to his administrative duties and leadership responsibilities, he counselled and taught students. Ustadh Amjad currently is a faculty member at  Al-Maqasid, and he also teaches for SeekersGuidance Online Islamic Seminary.
