Organizational Announcement
Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah
The Board of the Roswell Community Masjid must bear the unfortunate news that Br. Arshad Anwar will no longer be joining our institution as imam.
At the Roswell Community Masjid, we firmly uphold ihsan (excellence), accountability, transparency, and a youth-centered focus as our core values. We consider these as an amanah, a sacred trust, to ensure a safe space for every member of our community, regardless of their age or gender whether they are toddlers, teens, young men and women, or respected elders.
After the Board announced Br. Arshads return to RCM as Imam on April 3rd, 2024, we received information that we verified and made us unanimously rescind our offer to him later that month.
This situation has been extremely painful and challenging for all of us. We seek Allahs guidance and support in these trying times.
In the upcoming weeks, the Board will gather the community, its leaders, and trusted professionals to consult and collaborate to reinforce safeguards. We are also planning meetings to openly discuss the matter, answer any questions, and foster introspection, all aimed at facilitating healing. We are fully committed to comforting and assisting anyone affected by this.
We strongly encourage anyone with additional concerns to directly contact any board member or attend an upcoming town hall.
May Allah protect and guide us all.
Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah
