Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
We are aware of the recent statement issued by some former members of the Shura and would like to respond with clarity, respect, and a commitment to transparency.
While we acknowledge and appreciate their time and efforts as volunteers, we believe it is important to clarify that the brothers and sister who chose to resign were unfortunately not aligned with the collaborative spirit and unified direction required within the Shura team. Despite repeated efforts to foster productive dialogue and cooperation, their approach did not contribute positively to the progress or cohesion with the rest of the team. As a result, their continued participation was not leading to effective outcomes for the masjid or the community.
Leadership often requires navigating difficult decisions with patience, consultation (shura), and unity. While differences in opinion are natural, it is essential that all members work toward solutions in a spirit of mutual respect and sincere commitment to the collective good for our community.
We remain committed to the mission and values of McKinney Islamic Association, and we place our trust in Allah (SWT) to guide us as we continue to serve our community with sincerity and transparency. We ask for your prayers, support, and continued active engagement as we work together to build a stronger future for our masjid.
In this moment, we are reminded of the profound guidance from Allah (SWT) in Surah Aal-Imran, He says: " "
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.
(Surah Aal-Imran, 3:103)
We are also reminded of His words (SWT) in Surah Al-Anfal:
"
And do not dispute with one another, or you would lose courage and your strength would depart. And be patient. Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient.
(Surah Al-Anfal, 8:46)
May Allah protect our community from fitnah and keep us steadfast upon His guidance.
