Assalamualaikum Dear GIC Community,

We are excited to welcome another blessed month of Ramadan! May Allah grant us faith, good health, and the opportunity to make the most of this sacred month.

GIC will follow the local moon sighting policy, based on the guidance of our Imam, Sheikh Osama Hussain. We will determine the start and end of Ramadan using verified moon sightings from ChicagoHilal.org

The first day of fasting will be either Saturday, March 1st, or Sunday, March 2nd, depending on the crescent moon sighting. Insha Allah, we will keep you updated across all our communication platforms.
