When does Ramadan begin?

MSDV follows the Islamic calendar determinations set forth by the

 Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA)

As such, Ramadan begins this year on the evening of Friday, February 28.

The first day of fasting is Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Taraweeh prayers begin the evening of Friday, February 28

Taraweeh Prayer

Join MYCP for daily Isha followed by congregational Taraweeh prayer, during which we will complete a full recitation of the Holy Quran over the course of Ramadan! The Taraweeh prayer will be led by Shaykh Mamdou Selim and Shaykh Shahid. Imam Basheer will do short Khatiras during the Taraweeh prayers. The first Taraweeh will be on Friday, February 28th.

Community Iftars

Join us as we bring both the MYCP and ICCWG communities together with a weekly community iftar at Fisher's Banquet Hall, InshaAllah! We will gather on Sundays in Ramadan. $10 donation at the door. All proceeds go to the Masjid.

Donate or cook for a community iftar! ​

"Whoever provides iftar for a fasting person in Ramadan, their sins will be forgiven and they will be free from the Fire. They will have the same reward as the fasting person, without either of their rewards decreasing from each other." - Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

We have more than fifteen iftars planned for this Ramadan across both centers. Please help us make these iftars happen by sponsoring for one of the events!

Ramadan pause

Imam Basheer's weekly programs and halaqas at MYCP will be paused during the month of Ramadan and will resume after Eid ul Fitr, Insha Allah

Ramadan House Rules

Both MYCP and ICCWG will have thousands of visits per week in Ramadan. We would like your experience to be safe and enjoyable. We would like to foster an environment that promotes spiritual growth and fraternity. We ask that you respect (1) each other, (2) the house of Allah, and (3) our neighbors by following the guidelines laid down by the leadership. Jazakallah u Khair.
