This hadith is simple but life-changing
Each Jumuah is a divine invitation to pause, reflect, and realign. And what better place to begin than the very foundation of all our deeds: intention.
The Prophet Muhammad said:
Indeed, actions are judged only by intentions, and everyone will get what theyintended.
Bukhari & Muslim
This hadith is simplebut life-changing. It reminds us that the true worth of what we do lies not in how much or how visible it is, but in why we do it.
In a world floodedwith distractions, its easy to live on autopilotto act without awareness, to speak without thought, to serve while seeking applause. But our tradition teaches us something far more liberating: even the smallest action, when done with sincerity, can become an act of worship. Folding laundry for your family. Holding back from anger. Smiling at a stranger. All of it can be recorded as reward_if the intention is purified and sincere._
If our intentions falteras they sometimes dowe are not lost. Rather, we are invited to renew. To return. To remember why we do what we do.
And these actions, unlike everything else, are what remain with us.
The Prophet also said:
Three things follow a deceased person: his family, his wealth, and his deeds. Two return, and one remains. His family and wealth return, but his deeds remain.
(Bukhari &Muslim)
We live in a world that urges us to chase what will eventually leave us behind. But our deedsno matter how unnoticed by otherstravel with us into the grave. They are the true companions of our soul, the lasting legacy we carry forward. This is why intention matters.
So on this blessed day, take a moment to returninward. Before the action, search the heart. Let your intention be for Allahand let that intention transform your day.
Jumuah Mubarak.
