Assalmu’alikum,

Join us tomorrow to fulfill the sunnah prayer offered during an eclipse.

It is sunnah to perform two rak’ahs of voluntary (nafl) prayer with prolonged qiyam, ruku and sujud. If you cannot attend the congregation you may perform it at home.

Dhuhr salah will be at 1:45 PM followed by the eclipse salah.

In Surah Waqiah, Allah takes an oath by the positions of the stars, which is emphasized as a mighty oath if only we could understand. Inshallah we can reflect on this verse in light of Monday’s celestial event… just don’t look directly at it!
