As Salaam Alaikum Dear Beloved Brothers and Sisters,
Our Brother Oumar Hamadi, has returned to Allah on Sunday, 9/29/2024 (26 Rabi ul Awal 1446). Oumar took his shahada more than 40 years ago. He was a dear friend of mine for more than 20 years. Oumar has been in the Masjid Al Farooq community since the beginning. I remember praying Fajr with him at MAF's first locations on 73rd and 71st Street, and continuing to MAFs current location.
Despite the numerous obstacles and challenges in his way as a convert, Brother Oumar never gave up. Rather, he remained committed and faithful to his Deen until he returned to Allah, I will miss him dearly.
May Allah grant patience to his family in their time of grief and allow his illness to be an expiation for his sins and a reason for his admittance to Jannah, Ameen.
The most beloved action to Allah is to make a Muslim happy by removing a burden from his/her shoulder.... Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Please assist with removing the burden from the family of our brother by covering the $4800 cost for his burial. Any amount that you can give will be very beneficial. Please make dua for him and his family.
May Allah forgive all of us and have mercy on us, Ameen.
