Reflection from Ustadh Tariq's Khutbah

Ustadh Tariq reminds us in his last Eid Khutbah that the human being is only anumber of breaths.

With every inhale, we are gifted life. With every exhale, we edge closer to our end.

The Prophet said the average lifespan of this ummah is between 60 and 70 years. When we account for sleep alone, a third of that is already gone.

Its a sobering thought_how much time are we truly benefitting from?_

This isnt meant to scare usbut to wake us up. Too often, we move through our lives without making any intention at all. We eat, sleep, work, and restbut forget to anchor these actions with purpose.

As Ustadh Tariqbeautifully puts it, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is so generousthat we could be receiving reward, benefit, just by resting our eyes and giving our bodies a break.

Every breath, every step, every bite of food can carry rewardif done with intention.

What other way of life offers such beauty and mercy?Nowhere else will you find such an abundance of prophetic guidanceduas for sleeping, eating, traveling, dressing, even relieving oneselfeach moment transformed into an opportunity for nearness to Allah.

Aisha (ra) reported: The Prophet would remember Allah at all times. (Sahih Muslim)

Let us putintentions behind every action. Let our eating be gratitude. Our walking be remembrance. Our resting be giving our bodies its rights.

Turn your ordinary moments into extraordinary acts of devotion. Put Allah at the centerand watch how even your breaths begin to carry you toward Him.

JumuahMubarak.
