June 14th, 2024 | Dhul Hijjah 8th, 1445 AH
Assalamu Alaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,
May this email find you in the best of health and iman (faith). These are moments of immense spiritual significance, a time when the mercy and blessings of Allah (SWT) are abundant, and the rewards for our deeds are multiplied manifold.
In our weekly newsletter, we are delighted to share with you the latest updates and opportunities within our beloved North Austin Muslim Community Center, tailored especially for these sacred days.
Dhul Hijjah is the eleventh month in the Islamic lunar calendar. It is considered one of the four sacred months in Islam, along with Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab. During Dhul-Qidah, Muslims engage in various acts of worship, including fasting, charity, and increased devotion. However, unlike the months of Ramadan and Dhu al-Hijjah, there are no specific obligatory acts or rituals associated with Dhul-Qidah. It is a time for reflection, spiritual growth, and preparation for the upcoming sacred month of Dhu al-Hijjah, during which the Hajj pilgrimage takes place.
We have entered into very blessed days. It is the last month of the Islamic calendar. The month in which the holy pilgrimage of Hajj is performed. Now, there will be many who have not yet been able to go Hajj, and perhaps even had plans to go this year, but due to the unforeseen circumstances, were unable to go. What now? Just because we are not performing Hajj, does that mean we cant do anything extra? The answer is, no. The first 10 days of dhull hijjah are extremely important and blessed. According to the exegetes of the Quran,Allah has taken an oath by them:
As we navigate through Dhul Hijjah, let us strive to uphold the values of Islam and emulate the teachings of our beloved Prophet. May this month be filled with blessings, joy, and spiritual growth for all of us.
Wishing you and your families a blessed and prosperous Dhul Hijjah.
Warmest regards,
North Austin Muslim Community Center (NAMCC)
