Assalamu alaikum,

On behalf of the leadership of NICC, we are pleased to share with you the exciting news that Ohio Ihsan Academy (OIA) will be opening a new nonprofit full-time Islamic school at NICC beginning this Fall. We have long dreamt of having a fulltime school at NICC, and that dream is finally coming to reality with the blessings of Allah SWT through this collaboration with OIA.

This Fall, OIA will open its doors to students in Pre-K through 3rd grade and will gradually add more grades in the years to come. Although the plan is for OIA to eventually be housed in NICC's new building (former BMW financial building), the necessary renovations and pending approvals from the City of Hilliard will not allow the school to begin at that location this year. For that reason, the school will temporarily occupy the lower level of our masjid in its first year of operation.

During this year, we will not be able to use the lower level for the weekend schools, Friday prayers, taraweeh during Ramadan, and other events like azzas, weddings, or other gatherings typically held there. However, we have an amazing team dedicated to making sure that we will have accommodations available to meet all the needs of our community during this transition year. As you may know, we have already begun having Friday prayers at the new building, and the summer programs have been moved there as well in order to accomodate everyone comfortably. Looking ahead, the weekend schools will also be moved to the new building inshaAllah for the coming year. Once we have approval from the city, we plan to have a beautiful event space at the new building for our community events as well as for private rentals.

We kindly ask for your patience during this year. Please do your best to be supportive of this important effort and minimize any negativity you may feel from any impact this transition may have on you personally during this year. There will likely be some inconvenience felt by all of us to some degree or another, but the benefit of having this Islamic school in our community for our kids is priceless.

As always, keep our masjid and our community in your dua.

Jazakum Allahu khairun,

Ronney Abaza on behalf of NICC Board of Directors
