Dear ICEB Community,

We sincerely appreciate your participation in the discussion regarding the addition of a formal Masjid name to the Islamic Center of East Brunswick (ICEB) / Iqra Community Services. Thank you for sharing your feedback through the form we previously circulated. Based on your input, we are now moving to the next phase of the name selection process.

A key concern that emerged from the discussion was whether this change would affect our organizational identity. We want to reassure everyone that it will remain unchanged. We are not changing or eliminating our organizations name. We will continue to operate as the Islamic Center of East Brunswick (ICEB) and Iqra Community Services, as outlined in our bylaws. The goal is simply to add a formal Masjid name, which will appear in Arabic alongside Islamic Center of East Brunswick on the new sign at the centers main entrance.

For the next phase, voting will be open to ICEB members registered by March 15, 2025. After careful consideration, the ICEB Shura and Administration have finalized the following options based on the received feedback, which will be put forth for voting by our members:

• Masjid Iqra (reflecting our registered organizations name, Iqra Community Services)
• Masjid Al Huda
• Masjid Ibrahim
• Masjid Maryam
• Masjid Omar
• No Explicit Masjid Name (continuing to refer to the facilities as ICEB and Iqra Community Services)

Important Notes:

• Voting for the next phase will be open only to ICEB members registered by March 15, 2025.
• If you are not yet a member for 2025, we encourage you to join now to ensure your voice is heard. You can apply here: https://www.icebnj.net/membership-application-2025/
• The voting start date will be announced after March 15, 2025.
• Once a name is selected through voting, a special General Body meeting will be scheduled to vote on amending the bylaws to officially include the chosen name as an also known as.
• The new sign at the Masjids main entrance will be installed following the approval of the bylaws amendment.
