Ramadan Mubarak from Our SALAM Family to Yours!

Ramadan is almost here, and our hearts are overflowing with excitement and gratitude! We are looking forward to welcoming you and your loved ones to SALAM as we embark on this sacred journey together.

May this month be a source of barakah, forgiveness, and guidance for us all. May our fasts, prayers, and good deeds be accepted, and may we emerge from Ramadan with hearts renewed and faith elevated. Ameen!

First Night of Taraweeh | Friday, February 28 | 8:00 PM

Join us as we begin Taraweeh prayers led by our Imams:

Shaykh Saad ElHelaly (Hafs) and Shaykh Achour El-Qaddoury (Warsh), who will alternate each night.
Imam Muhammed Elmarouk will share inspiring reflections (Khatiras) on "The 99 Names of Allah" series.
Taraweeh format: 4 rakahs short khatira 4 rakahs Witr.

Parking

To make things easier, nightly parking will be at American River College (ARC), S Lot (to the right of the ARC entrance).

Childcare

Weve got your little ones covered!

Ages 3-9: Childcare available from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Ages 10+: We kindly ask that children remain with their parents during prayers.
For parents with kids under 10 who prefer not to use childcare: Youre welcome to pray in the downstairs auditorium, a comfortable and welcoming space for families.

Community Iftars

The joy of Ramadan is coming together, and we cant wait to break fast with you!

First Community Iftar: Saturday, March 1 (Maghrib at 6:00 PM)
Community Iftars: Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout Ramadan.
Care4Converts Iftar: Every Wednesday, providing a welcoming space for new Muslims.

Sana'a Cafe at SALAM!

Every Sunday between Iftar and Taraweeh, Sana'a Cafe will be tabling at SALAM, selling their famous Yemeni chai, coffee, and a selection of pastries at a discounted price. Dont miss this chance to enjoy a warm drink and sweet treat while supporting a local business!

Qiyams A Night of Worship & Reflection

Brothers Qiyam: The first brothers' Qiyam will be on Friday, February 7, from Taraweeh to Fajr. Brothers Qiyam will continue every Friday night after Taraweeh.

Zakat Information

Ramadan is the perfect time to fulfill your Zakat obligations and purify your wealth.

Zakat-ul-Mal: If you havent yet fulfilled your annual Zakat, Ramadan is the ideal time to do so. Pay Zakat-ul-Mal.
Zakat-ul-Fitr: This is a special charity given in Ramadan before Eid prayer. It is obligatory for every Muslim and ensures that everyone can celebrate Eid with joy. The amount is $15 per person. Pay Zakat-ul-Fitr.

Girl Scout Troop 972 Hosts World Thinking Day

On February 22, 2025, Girl Scout Troop 972 brought together a vibrant celebration of global unity and cultural understanding at the SALAM Islamic Center for World Thinking Day. This annual event highlights the importance of friendship, peace, and international awareness within the Girl Scout movement.

From engaging activities like a hijab photo booth and masjid tours to informative booths on Palestine, the day was a testament to the power of inclusivity and respect. Organized by senior Girl Scout Noor Latif, the event showcased the warmth and spirit of the SALAM community, fostering connections and inspiring young leaders to make a difference.
