Dr. Mekki has worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a senior executive and medical researcher for four decades, leading the global approval of multiple medicines. His diverse experiences living and working in Iraq, the UK, USA, Japan, Singapore, and China have exposed him to various cultures, and he is fluent in Arabic, English, and Chinese. Dr. Mekki has been an active member of the ICC-GC for many years and has represented the Center in various community-organizing efforts in the Chicago area. He also served as Vice Chair of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago for two years.
