Dear ICEB Community,

In accordance with the bylaws of the Islamic Center of East Brunswick (ICEB) and following discussions at the October 6, 2024, Special General Body Meeting, the Shura Delegates were tasked with appointing a new ICEB President for the remainder of the 2023-2024 administration term. We carefully considered the community suggestions invited in our October 14 email and allowed time for feedback before finalizing our decision.

We are pleased to announce that the Shura Delegates have selected Br. Akhlaq Zafar for the role of President. His appointment began on November 6, 2024, after he took the oath, and he is currently in the process of forming his administration team. Please note that Br. Akhlaq and his teams appointments will be effective only until December 31, 2024.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Br. Akhlaq for stepping up to this important role, despite its limited duration of less than two months. We ask the community to keep Br. Akhlaq and his administration team in their prayers for success.

May Allah SWT put barakah in this decision, grant success to the new administration in serving the community, and forgive any shortcomings in our efforts.
