Another year of excellent nominations! We called on the community again this year, and you delivered! Thank you for the engagement! These nominees represented yet again the best that our community has to offer.
An election committee consisting of active RCM volunteers and board members interviewed all candidates who accepted the nominations. The election committee and board then underwent a rigorous deliberation process to select the best talent to serve the community.
On behalf of the RCM community, the RCM Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Sr. Tanvir Sarmast, Br. Omar Ahmed, and Br. Maher Budeir as our newest board members. These experienced and dedicated individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and have a proven track record of service to the community.
Tanvir Sarmast
Sr. Tanvir, a formerBoardmember and current co-lead of RCMs Vision 99 initiative, has been an integral part of the RCM community for many years. Her family, including her grandchildren, actively participate in RCM programming. With a strong background in leading diverse teams, strategic planning, and dedicated community service, Sr. Tanvir is committed to make a positive impact in all she does.
Omar Ahmed
Br. Omar is a Georgia Tech graduate with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering and a Masters in Computer Science, specializing in Machine Learning. As an Eagle Scout, he continues to volunteer with Troop 12. Raised at Roswell Community Masjid since its inception, Omar brings a strong background in technology, volunteering, and program planning. With a passion for both his faith and community, he looks forward to contributing his skills and experience to support the growth and success of the masjid.
Maher Budeir
Br. Maher has been involved with RCM since its inception in different roles. He served with a number of volunteers to start the RCM concept between 2006 and 2008, then served as a revenue director from 2008 to 2013. Served as a Board member 2013-2015. Served as an Executive Director 2019-2020. And has been co-leading the new campus project (Vision99) since September 2022. Professionally, he is the managing partner for a local real estate investor group focused on development and construction of select residential and Mixed-use development projects. Hes also a certified Governance Trainer for non-profit organizations.
These newly elected board members have demonstrated their commitment to the community and are invested in seeing RCM grow to the next level for their children and future generations. **Together with our new additions, the 2025 RCM board will include the following members:

A special thank you to our departing board members - Br. Faraz Iqbal, Br. Izaz Rahman, and Br. Muhammad Fahmy, for their countless hours of service to the community! They have helped shape who we are today and helped define the path forward in RCMs journey. We thank them for everything they have done and will continue to do on behalf of RCM. May Allah guide those who serve RCM on the right path so that RCMs approach is always blessed. -Ameen
