Where is God?
If asked, many would unhesitatingly point upwards.
Yet, Islam unveils that this notion is far from the truth.
Allah the Exaltedtranscends space and time. He cannot be restricted to or by any physical location.
We, on the other hand, can only be in one place at one time. To attribute this limitation to the Creator by saying He resides upwards is to impose human restrictions upon His capabilities. How can the Unlimited have limits?
What does God look like?
In Genesis of the Bible, it is stated that God created man in His likeness. But how can there be similarities between the Creator and His creation if He truly is the Creator? This dangerous narrative is gravely wrong.
The Qur'an emphatically states, "There is nothing likeHim" (42:11). Nothing compares to Him. There is an infinite gap between the Creator and His creation.
Even if you were to imagine Him, it would not come close. He is always greater than what anyone can envision: "No vision can encompass Him..." (Qur'an 6:103).
