Give sadaqa on Jumuah

Jumuah Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters.

Where should one set their prioritiesupon the fleeting present of this worldly life(dunya) or on the eternal future where the afterlife (akhirah) awaits?

Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, imparts wise advice:

"Set out with the world at your back

andthe Hereafter at your front"

Bukhari

Ustadh Tariq Ameer in Softening the Heart expands on this with a hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wherein he reminds us that the dunya and akhirah should be a balancing act.

You should still plan for the present as if you would live forever but meticulously prepare as if you would die tomorrow.

We don't want to be in a state of dislike when we meet our Lord.

But what if you fear death and find it difficult and scary to thinkabout? Know that this is completely natural. However, it only becomes harder to deal if you neglect to adequately prepare for death. And preparation itself will in turn diminish your fear of the imminent.

We must strive for a state akin to that of the Sahaba, the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with them, who prioritized the akhirah. In their unwavering focus on the afterlife, Allah the Exaltedbestowed upon them blessings in both the dunya and akhirah.

May Allah give us the same. Ameen.

As we move through this blessed day of Jumuah, let us keep our eyes and hearts set upon the akhirah. Let us emulate the Sahaba, may Allah be pleased with them, and, as Ustadh Tariq eloquently puts it,

"make Allah all of our cares and He will take care of all our cares".

Give sadaqa on Jumuah

Be the reason for someone's hope and conviction in Islam.

This year, wehave given out 81 classes for free to our students.

Please consider donating to M.E.C.C.A. so that we may continue to provide authentic knowledge of Islam to all who humbly and sincerely seek it, to those who are isolated and have to hide their new faith from others, and to those who don't have the right support and resources to turn to.

No amount is ever too little as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, urges us to give to prevent calamity even if it was half a date.

Let your gift of charity bless you with the best in this life and the next. Ameen.
