Khutbah at 1pm
Jumuah Mubarak to our dearbrothers and sisters!
Join us as we rediscover the beautiful pearls of wisdoms from our Ramadan programming in our Jumuah emails starting with Ustadh Tariq's Softening the Heart and implement its lessons in our lives.
Ustadh unravels the following statement of Hasan al Basri on the behavior of the righteous:
I have met people who refused to take lawful things of this world that were presented to them, saying, By Allah, I do not know what state I will be in if I take it in my hand.
This leaving off of even the permissible things of this world by the righteous comes from a fear of Allah. They fear that indulging in these things might nurture a love in theirhearts for worldly matters, potentially leading them away from Allah the Exalted.
Consider the pull oftelevision, social media, and the internet.
Individuals often find themselves captivated, spending countless hours engrossed in these platforms simply because of that initial appeal luring them in. Have you ever found yourself down the rabbit hole of endless distractions and pursuits, losing track of time and purpose?
It leads you to the following conclusion - in your remembrance of the lowliness of this world, everything is only temporary. But, Allah the Exalted is the Everlasting.
Watch the rest of this heart softener on Youtube below to learn more on this profound concept that we should internalize. May it condition our hearts to become more in awe and in mindfulness of Allah theExalted.
