Fulfill the rights of the Qur'an
Jumuah Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters.
As we draw closer to the fateful Hour, it's a timely reminder from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that one of the signs of its approach is the swift passage of time (Tirmidhi 2332).
How many of us can relate to the feeling of days slipping through our fingers, prompting the question where did the time go?
As Ramadan approaches, the responsibility lies on us to seize the opportunity presented by time.
With the gates of mercyand salvation wide open in that blessed month, it's crucial to be prepared to engage in acts of worship that please Allah the Exalted. Let's ensure that when Ramadan departs, we're not left with the regret of not doing enough.
How do you intend to maximize this precious gift of time? Are you prepared?
Ramadan holds a special significance as the month when the Quran was revealed. How would you rate your relationship with the Book of Allah?
The Quran, a source of guidance, healing, and a criterion to distinguish right from wrong, bears witnessto our actions. It can either advocate for us or stand as a testimony against us on the Day of Judgment.
The Quran is an intercessor and a truthful prosecutor. Whoever puts it in front of himself, it will lead him to Paradise. Whoever throws it behind his back, it will drive him into theHellfire.
Sahih Ibn Hibban 124
May we adhere to what is halal and abstain from the haram, and may it intercede for us, by the will of Allah the Exalted.
If you need to work on your relationship with the Quran, thenthere is no better time than now in Sha'ban to nurture it. Let's prioritize these last several days before Ramadan and utilize our free Sha'ban habit tracker here to increase in our recitation of the Qur'an.
In Ramadan, you should aim to add in recitation and reading of the Quran throughout the day committing with the best of your ability to complete its entirety by the end. Dont limited your Qur'an recitation to just the tarawih prayer.
For sisters wanting to learn short surahs for prayer, Sr Alina Goldshtayn will be providing her expertise on Wednesdays in Ramadan to help you correctly pronounce the Arabic.
Remember, there is immense blessing in every letter:
Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds likeit.
Tirmidhi 2910
This is the Word of Allah bestowed upon us to draw closer to Him. Let's honor this priceless gift by fulfilling its rights.
