Living Islam is Tomorrow Night
Jumuah Mubarak to our dearbrothers and sisters!
Ramadan was a gift to help us realize what we're truly capable of. Even though it has left us, it doesn't mean its lessons are forgotten.
Join us as we rediscover the beautiful pearls of wisdoms from our Ramadan programming in our Jumuah emails starting with Ustadh Tariq's Softening the Heart.
Ustadh expands upon the quote from Hasan al Basri wherein he spoke of how:
"the believers are people of humility. By Allah, their ears, eyes and limbs are so humble that an ignorant person might think them to be ill. By Allah, they are not sick. They have sound hearts, but a fear which has not entered others has entered them, and their knowledge of the Next World haskept them away from this world."
These believers tread lightly on this earth (Quran 25;63). They navigate life with a sense of detachment from its fleeting allure, safeguarding their hearts from the pitfalls and diseases of greed and arrogance.
The dunya (the worldly life) is in their hands due to their fearof the ultimate reality. That to Allah they belong and to Him they will return.
As such, the believers are not worried about attaining in this life, because they see this life for what it truly is. This dunya in comparison to the akhirah (the Afterlife) is fleeting and useless. Alhamdulillah for what they have. Alhamdulillah for what has left them.Alhamdulillah for what they don't have.
Yet, as Ustadh Tariq emphasizes, true believers do not retreat from the world but engage with it wisely. They glean from this life only that which will enrich their journey towards the Afterlife.
Watch the rest of this heart softener on Youtube below. May itcondition our hearts to become more in awe and in mindfulness of Allah the Exalted.
