Jumuah Mubarak
Jumuah Mubarak to our dearbrothers and sisters!
The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"Verily, deeds are only judged by their endings."
Sahih Bukhari and Muslim
As we approach the end of the Islamic year, what would your book of deeds say about you in this past year?
How have we grown spiritually? How have we strived to embody the teachings ofIslam? How have we contributed to the betterment of ourselves and our community?
With the blessed month of Muharram coming up next week, let us look ahead with hope and anticipation for the new beginning that lies before us. Renew your intentions to detach from this worldly life and to deeply engage in acts of worship that will ascend your soul in nearness to Allah the Exalted. What meaningful goals andresolutions will you work towards?
Remember, the importance of routine and daily habits cannot be overstated. Consistent, small acts of worship and good deeds shape our character and strengthen our connection with our Rabb (Lord).
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.
Sunan Ibn Majah4240
Establishing good habits, such as maintaining regular prayer, reciting the Qur'an daily, and keeping your tongue moist with dhikr (remembreances of Allah), creates a foundation for a spiritually fulfilling life.
Plan your day by adding sunnahs (Prophetic practices) from the moment youwake up until you go to bed. Imam Ghazali's The Beginning of Guidance is an invaluable resource in helping you establish sunnahs of the Beloved of Allah, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. View the PDF here.
May today be a reminder of the temporary nature of this life and the importance of striving for goodness until our last breath.
May the Most Merciful bless you abundantly in the days ahead. May your deeds on thisJumuah and throughout the Islamic year be a source of eternal reward.
